Getting to know you
It’s Monday morning, I’m sick and I’m pretty much twiddling my thumbs when it comes to work, so here’s a little fun, time-filling ‘Getting to know you’ quiz:
What time did you get up this morning?
The decidedly unholy time of 6am.
2. Diamonds or pearls?
Diamonds.
3. What was the last movie you saw?
Miami Vice in cinemas, Lord of War on DVD, Pearl Harbour on TV.
4. What is your favourite TV show?
Lost, The Amazing Race, South Park.
5. What did you have for breakfast?
Nature’s Source Nutzy Crunch Muesli (moo-oo-slee) with a spoonful of plain yoghurt.
6. What is your middle name?
Kagel (it’s an acronym of all the names in my family).
7. What is your favourite cuisine?
Italian.
8. What food do you dislike?
Raw onion, and organ meats like liver and kidney.
9. What is your favourite crisp flavour?
Chutney (Fruit and Thai).
10. What is your favourite CD at the moment?
Coming off a Hoobastank addiction; but recently bought Fatboy Slim’s Greatest Hits album.
11. What kind of car do you drive?
Silver Opel Corsa Lite.
12. Favourite sandwich?
Bacon and egg, otherwise chicken, or good ol’ peanut butter.
13. What characteristic do you despise?
Arrogance.
14. Favourite items of clothes?
I’m a total jacket whore, so definitely my tan leather jacket. And I love my DVS sneakers.
15. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would you go?
Greece, New Zealand, Scotland, but I haven’t been overseas for 10 years so I’ll settle for a plane trip anywhere right now. Vegging on an unspoilt beach in Mozambique seems like a more realistic, accessible option right now.

Blue and white.
17. Favourite brand of clothing?
Probably Billabong.
18. Where would you like to retire?
To a beachfront home in a sleepy coastal town.
19. Favourite time of day?
Probably mid-evening, around 8pm or so.
20. What was your most memorable birthday?
My 14th birthday, spent in hospital where I was having half of my thyroid removed.
21. Where were you born?
Durban, South Africa.
22. Favourite sport to watch?
Tennis, Cricket, Rugby, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Winter Olympics.
23. What fabric detergent do you use?
Um, Staysoft… washing ain’t my thing.
24. Coke or Pepsi?
Coke.
25. Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Under no circumstances should you even attempt to speak to me before 8am!
26. What is your shoe size?
Usually 6, sometimes 5 (UK size), depending on the style.
27. Any Pets?
One dog (golden retriever), one bird (cockatiel).
28. Any words of wisdom you'd like to share?

An artist / detective / bike-riding superhero.
30. What are you doing today?
Attempting to look productive when I actually have very little work to do, and am feeling unwell. Typing furiously and having Microsoft Word open helps…
