And the new Punisher is...

Titus Pullo! Rome's Ray Stevenson is pulling on the skull T-shirt to replace Thomas Jane in Punisher 2, based on Marvel's vicious anti-hero vigillante, Frank Castle.

I'm very happy with this casting. As Rome proved, British Stevenson can easily pull off big, bulky and badass without sacrificing likeability. You can read more about the actor here.

I'm very worried about the state of this film. Mainly because I'm a big Thomas Jane fan (yes there were problems in the first Punisher but Jane wasn't one of them) and the reasons he cited for leaving the project sound troubling.

But Stevenson seems like a good choice to step into Castle's shoes.

I agree, Thomas Jane really got the spirit of the character right... even if he wasn't quite physically imposing enough.

I'm curious to see what the film makers are up to this time around. Will they go more badass and violent, or more lighthearted?

I believe that the next Punisher might not do well without Thomas Jane because his acting in the Punsher was just uncaning and can't be match and hopefully they can come to some conlclusion and get him back for the second Punisher cause I just can't see another Punisher without him in it.

I weatn to say the next Punisher if they make another one because they have finished making the movie all but one scene but I just don't think It's going to do as well without Thomas Jane, But will see.

Thomas Jane fit the role perfectly, this guy Stevenson? No, the movie floped in the theater. Thomas Jane didn't like the script for the Punished 2, he refused to do it. Much like a lot of sequels do, suck. Punisher 2 was true to that fact.
