Some fun for Friday: Movie of Your Life
I pulled this little game diversion from My New Plaid Pants.
QUESTION: If your life is a movie, what songs are on the soundtrack?
Here's how it works:
1. Open iTunes
2. Put it on shuffle and press play
3. For every question, type the song that's playing
4. Make up a Title and choose your Cast
I used my iPod instead of iTunes, but it should work for any portable MP3 player or MP3-playing computer programme, depending what you have access to.
I was utterly stumped for a movie title but as for my cast:
Playing me: Christina Ricci or Selma Blair
Mom: Cybill Shepherd
Dad: Paul Sorvino
Sister: Alicia Silverstone
Paul: Wentworth Miller
And here’s my movie biography’s soundtrack:
Opening Credits:
S.O.S. – Good Charlotte
Is anybody listening? Can they hear me when I call? I'm shooting signals in the air'Cause I need somebody's help.
Ah, the call of the punky pseudo-goth...
Waking Up:
Casino Royale trailer music
Well, at least it’s a dramatic intro with some nice choral music to introduce my…
First Day At School:
Lucky – Hoobastank
No more dark days, only sun rays, No more hard ways with you today.
School apparently isn’t such a traumatic experience in my movie.
Falling In Love:
Never There - Hoobastank
Ah, a one-way unrewarding relationship.
Fight Song:
Chasing Cars – Snow Patrol
So it’s going to be one of those sobby, cross-cut, glaring-at-the-phone fight scenes.
Breaking Up:
Nobody’s Listening – Linkin Park
And the eventual break-up is filled with frustration and rage.
Prom:
California Dreamin’ – Beach Boys
A mellow, dreamy dance to end my high school years.
Life:
Hotel California – The Eagles
You can check in any time you like, but you can never leave. Uh-oh!
Mental Breakdown:
Sk8er boi – Avril Lavigne
Hmmm, regrets and collapse over missed opportunities.
Driving:
Got The Life - Korn
Hate, something, someway, each day, feeling ripped off again. Why? This shit inside. Ah, lots of road rage.
Flashback:
Am I Not Merciful - Hans Zimmer (Gladiator)
Epic and threatening...
Wedding:
Hero – Chad Kroeger
Let's hope that my wedding isn't disturbed by a masked superhero and hover-board surfing villain.
Birth of Child:
Nobody Knows - Pink
Nobody knows, Nobody knows but me, That I sometimes cry
Secrets, trauma and maybe even post-natal circle the arrival of the little one.
Final Battle:
Little Bird – Annie Lennox
Apparently the final battle will involve a strip club and a pole…
Death Scene:
Night on Disco Mountain – David Shire
… And I die by dramatically being crushed by a mirror ball.
Funeral Song:
Drive - Incubus
A positive end, I suppose… Lately, I'm beginning to find that when I drive myself, my light is found Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there. With open arms and open eyes yeah
End Credits:
Goldeneye – Tina Turner
Seeing as my movie started with a Bond tune, it might as well end with one of the big Bond ballads.
---
I did the Move of Your Life thing a second time and ended up with a far rockier soundtrack:
Opening Credits:
The Man Without Fear – Rob Zombie, Drowning Pool
Waking Up:
Mustang Sally – Andrew Strong
First Day At School:
Somewhere I Belong – Linkin Park
Falling In Love:
Sad Sad Situation – Bowling for Soup
Fight Song:
Complicated – Avril Lavigne
Breaking Up:
Close to Me – The Cure
Prom:
Barbara Ann – The Beach Boys
Life:
Satisfaction – The Rolling Stones
Mental Breakdown:
Where the Streets Have no Name – U2
Driving:
Turn to Stone – ELO
Flashback:
To Know My Enemy – Hans Zimmer (Last Samurai)
Wedding:
Shut Up and Smile – Bowling for Soup
Birth of Child:
Rendezvous – Basement Jaxx
Final Battle:
Martyr – Depeche Mode
Death Scene:
Believe – Disturbed
Funeral Song:
Mindfields – Prodigy
End Credits:
Never Gonna Come Back Down – BT
