Fun for Friday

This cartoon, which recently appeared in the Orlando Sentinel, arrived in my email box yesterday and it really tickled my fancy:


And honestly, cartoonist Dana Summers is spot-on. It's all true. Immediately after watching the film we sought out the nearest Toys R Us to see if there were any figurines available. And yes, there were.

Well, it is Disney after all... I knew they, as a big entertainment corporation, wouldn't be able to resist all the merchandising they could link to the film - from toys to video games to soundtrack CDs to the colouring-in books and kiddie novelisations.

...And all this is despite the fact that the production of a glut of plastic tie-in products goes against the film's message.
