He was Legend
If you haven't heard by now, this last weekend, Hollywood lost one of its icons - Charlton Heston, the dashing, driven hero of so many movies, died at age 84 from Alzheimer's disease.
Heston appeared in some 100 films, but his immortality in pop culture has been forever secured by probably just 3 films - 2 of them Biblical epics. You could say that they don't make movies like that anymore, and they certainly don't make movie stars like Charlon Heston anymore either:
Ben-Hur
The Ten Commandments
Planet of the Apes
Interestingly, Heston's 1971 hit The Omega Man is based on Richard Matheson sci-fi novel I Am Legend, which we very recently saw adapted for the screen, starring Will Smith.
Rest in peace, Mr Heston.
