Trailer Tuesday: Blades of Glory
Damn, I was going to put up the unofficial, in-development trailer for Stardust today, but it looks like Paramount has ripped it down from all over the Net. Bugger.
So instead, here's the trailer for the next Will Ferrell comedy, Blades of Glory, a figure skating/buddy movie, co-starring Napoleon Dynamite himself, Jon Heder.
Plot: When rival figure skaters Chazz Michael Michaels (Will Ferrell) and Jimmy MacElroy (Jon Heder) go ballistic in an embarrassing, no-holds-barred fight at the World Championships, they are stripped of their gold medals and banned from the sport for life. Now, three-and-a-half years on, they've found a loophole that will allow them to compete: if they can put aside their differences, they can skate together – in pairs' figure skating.
You know the gay jokes will come thick and fast as the guys unite as the first male-only skating team. But whether the film is hilarious or not, it certainly looks like a pleasant evening at the cinema, as well as an amusing spoof of competitive figure skating. And I love the discussion of Fergie's 'lovely lady humps' at the end of the trailer. 'Provocative!'
