Thoughts for Friday

It’s been a very long, very busy week so I think it anyone could be forgiven for stopping their thinking at the very obvious fact that today is Friday and the end of the week. Thank goodness. Picking up the writing workload and proofing (error checking) of 2 copywriters has not been pleasant these past 2 weeks.

Anyway, some other thoughts as we head into the weekend:

1) Knee to the groin:Whether you are male or female, being kneed in the groin hurts… a lot. I discovered this when it accidentally happened on Wednesday evening. I don't think it's quite as bad for girls though. The burning stops after a minute...

2) More Pfeiffer news: The Stardust website- just a teaser- is up. Man, is this movie going to be pretty…

And, oh, my, major rumour here but apparently Michelle is up for a lead role in a film adaptation of hit musical Mamma Mia (you know, the one with Abba music). Michelle would play Donna, “a single mother who has raised her daughter on a Greek paradise isle. As the daughter prepares to get married, three men turn up — and each one could be her father”.

3) Survivor: Guatemala was great! I finally got around to watching Tuesday night’s finale yesterday. It’s probably the only time in the whole series where I’ve liked everyone in the Final Three, and would have been happy with anyone of them winning. And regardless of anything, I remain a big Stephanie fan. No doubt her ‘veteran’ Survivor and celebrity status helped, but she played that game so well, giving 100% all the time, and constantly pushing herself.

South Africa’s own Survivor starts very soon. My sister got through to the first round of interviews, and it would have been amazing if she had got through. Obviously the local version has decided to eliminate the busty blonde factor… or they picked someone else to fill that staple role.

4) Also in TV land CSI: New York is such a lot of crap. For whatever reason the show is normally on in the background while I’m doing something else. I quite enjoy the original CSI, but the New York one has this annoying habit of basing murders around fads of the moment.

Last night, there was some bollocks about corporate executives doing martial arts to foster a driven, focused spirit. Of course, their competitiveness has them murdering each other with oriental weapons and hand-to-hand combat over a promotion. … Because naturally, martial arts turns you into a superhero who can somersault off walls and ceilings. In reality, if someone throws a punch or kick at you, the best way to deal with it is to block it, throw the attacker to the ground where you would either stomp on them, slap them on the side of their head to burst their ear drums, or simply run away.

Lol. Never saw CSI: NY. But i love Csi and CSI: Maimi. And yes on the self defense. Also never hit a guy in the groin. You get guys that shake it off and then they come at you mad.

I could never get into New York or Miami. Still love the original though.
