The Greek holiday itinerary

OK, for those of you interested as to where exactly I'll be for the next 2 weeks, here's the itinerary:

Sunday, 16 Sept:
Depart Durban for Johannesburg in the afternoon.
Fly from Johannesburg to Athens on Olympic Airlines.

Monday, 17 Sept:
Arrive before 6am in Athens.
Check-in at our hotel - Hotel Arion.
Paul working and myself exploring.
Meet our Contiki Tour mates in the evening and have a traditional Greek dinner at the Plaka.


Tuesday, 18 Sept:
Depart on the Spotlight on Greece Tour. Guided sightseeing in Athens, including the Acropolis and Parthenon. Pausing at Corinth to see the canal. Then to the Palace of Agamemnon at Mycenae, with its beehive tomb. Past the Acronafplion Citadel to Olympia, where we're spending the night at the Olympia Amalia Hotel.


Wednesday, 19 Sept:
See the Temples of Hera and Zeus at Olympia, as well as the site of the original 776BC Olympics. To Delphi (home of the Oracle), where we spend the night at the Hotel King Iniohos.


Thursday, 20 Sept:
Tour of Delphi to see the temple of Apollo and the Treasury. Back to Athens in the afternoon, where Contiki Tour ends. Catch a ferry to Mykonos. Book into our hotel, the 4K's Hotel.


Friday, 21 Sept - Tuesday, 25 September:
5 days of fun and (hopefully) sun in Mykonos. Would like to catch the ferry to the island of Delos (a World Heritage Site and 1 of the most important archeological sites in Greece) on 1 of those days.


Tuesday, 25 September:
Late afternoon ferry back to Athens where book into a hotel.

Wednesday, 26 September:
Exploring. Maybe to some museums, or back to the Parthenon if the Contiki Tour felt rushed.

Thursday, 27 September:
Paul working. Myself exploring. To the airport in the evening.


Friday, 28 September:
Depart Greece at 1am on Olympic Airlines! Arrive in Johannesburg around 9am, and back to Durban in the afternoon.

I worked with a Greek women for 5 years and would never go to Greece if I were surrounded by ppl like her! I hope that the realGreeks are nicer ppl and that you have a fantastic trip - I'm sure your loyal blog readers will get a great report when you return. Safe trip. S

Part 4: The mystery of Lara Croft’s sexuality “Now what’s a man gotta do to get that kind of attention from ya?” – Larson Conway (Tomb Raider, 1996) Despite being an icon for many queer pop culture consumers, Lara Croft’s own sexual orientation remains ambiguous. Following on from the first post in this series , you may realise that I have a very definite type. Anyway, today we profile model-turned-actress Rhona Mitra . This 36 year old Briton is of English, Irish and Indian descent. You'll have seen her pop up on the big and small screen multiple over the past decade and a half, although Mitra's claim to fame is that she was the second ever model (some say first if you rule out "unofficial"  Nathalie Cook ) to play iconic video game character Lara Croft . From 1997-1998, Mitra could be found in PR material, as well as at trade shows, events and conventions as a flesh-and-blood embodiment of Tomb Raider 's kick-ass archeologist lead. There have been many official Lara Croft models over the years , but as far as I'm concerned Mitra remains the best.
