Girlz 'N' Games webcomic #66: Clash of the... Na'vi?!

This Girlz 'N' Games strip is pretty straightforward and self-explanatory. Basically it's a movie mash-up, done webcomic style.

The more I think about it, the more I was disappointed about the Clash of the Titans remake. Just so much missed potential. Regardless, while watching the new film, I found myself continually thinking that Greek demigod Perseus, played by Sam Worthington, would have had a much easier time if Worthington could call on his Avatar co-stars and other special abilities.

I mean, yet again the poor chap has to contend with a super-sized warrior woman who's a damn fine archer. And he has to bond with yet another epic flying mount before he can ride it! Of course this time he doesn't even have his fibre-optic hair braid for networking purposes.

Man, how disturbing does this look as a still image?

Anyway, that really was the amusing if disturbing thought that triggered this new Girlz 'N' Games comic. Without the use of a multi-million dollar synthetic body to help with the mental syncing process, I imagined Sam Worthington having to resort to a traditional Aussie human-animal "bonding" method. A blatant cliche of course, but I couldn't resist ;) G'day mates!

One final question though: What sex is Pegasus, really?

I like this. Actually...the downloading yourself into an Avatar in order to slay Medusa...since it's not REALLY your eyes seeing her, then she shouldn't be able to kill you, right?

That would actually make for an interesting modern version of the story.

I'm still confused as to why film makers have Perseus riding around on Pegasus. He had freaking flying sandals, he didn't need a flying horse!

Because flying horses are cooler than flying sandals. :P

Actually the equipment point is a good one to bring up. Apart from the sandals, I remember Perseus (at least in the old movie) being kitted out with all kinds of awesome equipment by the gods (a cool shield, invisibility helmet etc). In the new version all he got was Pegasus and a lightning sabre. Very strange to strip out those very cool elements.
